- Do I need to know anything about Bitcoin?
- No. PubKey is a Bitcoin bar, but a night here needs no crypto knowledge. Come for the bar.
- Can I pay in dollars?
- Yes. Both bars take dollars and bitcoin.
- Where are the bars?
- PubKey NYC: 85 Washington Pl, New York, NY 10011, in Greenwich Village. PubKey DC: 410 7th St NW, Washington, DC 20004, in Penn Quarter. Each has its own site; see Locations.
- How do I book an event?
- Each location takes its own bookings. Start at Book an event, pick the bar, and fill in its form. Prefer email? Write to [email protected].
- Are PubKey NYC and PubKey DC the same company?
- Yes. One brand, two bars. Menus, hours and events differ by location, which is why each bar runs its own site.
- Do you sell merch?
- Yes, at shop.pubkey.com. One store for the whole brand; it ships.
- What does "est. block 735,075" mean?
- Bitcoin's chain grows one block at a time, so a block height is a date. Block 735,075 was mined in April 2022, when the first bar opened.
- Is this the Pubky protocol, or the cryptography term?
- Neither. This PubKey is the bar. The name comes from the public key in a Bitcoin keypair, but the website is about beer, food and events.
